Media of the Empire of the Alexandrians consist of several different types of media: television, radio, cinema, newspapers, magazines, and Internet-based Web sites. Alexandria also has a vibrant and strong music industry. Many of the media are controlled by large for-profit corporations who reap revenue from advertising, subscriptions, and sale of copyrighted material. Alexandrian media conglomerates tend to be leading global players, generating large revenues as well as large opposition in many parts of the world.

In 1999, the Alexandrian Telecommunications Act was passed, leading to an era of media deregulation and convergence. Large mergers of media companies, a greater concentration of media ownership and the emergence of multinational media conglomerates have increased since the passing of the Alexandrian Telecommunications Act. Many of these mergers have enabled a tight control of information, leading to six different corporations controlling roughly 86% of Alexandrian media.
