Community of Nations

The Community of Nations (formerly the Alexandrian Community) is an intergovernmental organization of 10 member states that are mostly former territories of the Alexandrian Empire. The Community operates by consensus of all the governments of the different member states, which are organized by the Secretariat of the Community and several non-governmental organizations.

The Community of Nations dates back to the reign of Edgard I, under which it saw the decolonization of the Empire of the Alexandrians through the increase of self-governance to its colonies and territories. It was initially created by the Declaration of Isildur in 1961, establishing that the member states were free and equal. The titular symbol of this free association is Emperor Edgard II, who is the Head of the Community. The role does not carry any power, however, the Emperor of all Alexandrians is usually looked up to for leadership and guidance. The Emperor is the ceremonial head of state and reigning constitutional monarch of 8 members of the Community. However, they retain crowns that are legally distinct from the others, with the position of monarch separate from that of Head of the Community.

There are no legal obligations to one another for the member states, but they are united by language, history, culture and commonly shared values, enshrined in the Declaration of Isildur and the Charter of the Community of Nations.
